As the design director on this ongoing project, I am currently overseeing and developing every aspect of Ålands Folkhögskola’s brand and digital experience.
I was approached by Ålands Folkhögskola with the challenge of helping them to strategically and visually reposition the school as an attractive provider of education on the Åland Islands. The number of applicants having decreased significantly during the last 5 years, Ålands Folkhögskola saw a definite lack of marketing and brand purpose, as well as an overall poor usability and visual experience on the web.
In close collaboration with the school, I created an overarching strategy for the new brand, marketing and digital experience which provided the foundation for a new and fresh visual identity. For the brand, I chose to focus on the core values of the school and developed a modern logo that clearly communicates the strategical key words education + creativity + sustainability. The visual language consists of a combination of bold colours, state-of-the-art typography and inspiring images.
